This cute little puppy seems innocent as she is, but one glance at the background and we can see that she’s certainly not so innocent.  I get phone calls, texts, and messages constantly from people with puppies.  They tell me all the awful things that their puppies do or have done, including what you see here, tearing up everything in sight.  It doesn’t have to be this way…

But in most cases, people wait until they absolutely can’t handle their dog anymore before they seek out help.  It’s very similar to how people tend to wait until they’re really mad at their kids before they react to hwat they are doing.  Let me tell you that reacting is not the best option.  Being proactive and seeking out a trainer before your puppy turns into a bratty adolescent is always best.  I offer follow up visits in the home of every dog who has went through one of my training programs here at our home, and so this Thanksgiving weekend went to visit the home of little Frenchie puppy Addi.  Her mama Liz said this to me, “we just love her so much now.  She no longer tortures our other dog.  She is not a super crazy puppy anymore”.  This is not exactly verbatim but it is close, and it is the same thing that many of my clients say.  They were more proactive than most, getting her into my programs at a fairly young age.  But most people wait so long and deal with so many terrible behaviors from their puppy before they finally break down and contact a trainer.  I wish people could hear and see the happiness in the homes of the clients whose dogs have done the training.  It makes life so much better for them instantly.

Please hear me….don’t suffer more than you need to.  If you find yourself beginning to think you need help with your dog, get it now! Not only will it make the trainer and your dog’s job easier to start early, it will avoid things getting worse.  And more important than that, the right trainer can give you peace in your home, love for your dog, and joy in your life.  Why wait for that?
